Regents meeting June 18

The Board of Regents will have its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. June 18 in the Regents Room of the Fleming Administration Building. Public comments on agenda items will be taken prior to their consideration. Comments on nonagenda items will follow the regular business agenda. DPS Oversight Committee election

Online voting for the Department of Public Safety Oversight Committee is under way now through 4 p.m. June 15. Ann Arbor campus and U-M Health System staff represented by a collective bargaining unit (except for those represented by the Graduate Employees' Organization or the Police Officers Association of Michigan) are eligible to vote for a union staff member to the six-member oversight committee. MHealthy providing free fitness consultations

MHealthy is offering university faculty and staff a free, personal fitness consultation with a physical activity coordinator. The consultation takes approximately 45 minutes. Appointments are available at various locations across campus from Wednesday through mid-August. More dates will be available in the fall and winter. Discounts for other MHealthy programs are given at the end of the consultation, and the physical activity coordinator will follow-up six to eight weeks later to check on progress and answer questions. Data network switch replacements continue

Information Technology Central Services/Information Technology Communications (ITCS/ITCom) is replacing distribution layer switches in an additional 37 campus buildings this year. The upgrades began last year in 18 buildings and will continue through the next two years in 70 more. The switch connects local area networks to the UMnet Backbone and then to the Internet. One new Ethernet-linked switch per building will be funded. Units that wish to provide a second, redundant switch or a higher-speed link may purchase these items through ITCS/ITCom.
