A letter from Dr. Robert Kelch to UMHS personnel
"Building the future state of health care will start with strategic decision-making unbridled by economic fears, yet grounded in sound fiscal practices. It will mean investments in programs and services that bring significant return. And it will require wise use of our resources - especially our people," Dr. Robert Kelch, executive vice president for medical affairs and chief executive officer of U-M Health System wrote in a letter to UMHS personnel, during which he talked about "extraordinary challenges in this turbulent economy."

University will not renew apparel license
U-M will not renew its licensing agreement with Russell Corp. when it expires at the end of next month. The decision announced Monday follows a recommendation from the President’s Advisory Committee on Labor Standards and Human Rights to end U-M’s licensing agreement with the company for repeated freedom of association violations.
