Volunteers sought for new VOICES of the Staff network team

VOICES of the Staff, a program that offers a forum for sharing ideas and defining campus issues that matter most to the staff community, seeks volunteers to continue the dialog between U-M staff and leadership. The deadline for application is April 15.

Following the MSpeaks Town Hall Meeting in February, VOICES conducted a comprehensive survey to identify the top issues and opportunities in the minds of the staff community. The survey yielded more than 4,000 responses, resulting in six topics viewed as highest priorities to staff and supported by executive leadership that will become core areas of focus for the Voices network teams in 2009-10. The categories are:

• Benefits, health and well-being;
• Career development;
• Technology and best practices;
• Environmental stewardship;
• Leadership development; and
• Work climate.
