Forum promotes economic innovation, partnerships
At Monday’s town hall forum “Partnership for an Innovation Economy,” U-M hosted 300 people from business, industry and state government to exchange ideas about how the university can leverage its research and development expertise to strengthen the economy, and keep its graduates in Michigan.

IT officials discuss reasons for online evaluation shutdown
A series of factors centered around a higher-than-normal workload on the CTools system combined to cause the April 20 shutdown of the new online teaching evaluation process. Information technology officials said Monday they have identified the problems that contributed to the shutdown and have taken steps to fix them.

Hawaiian music maker
Amy Stillman didn’t go to graduate school to become a songwriter. A native Hawaiian, she dedicated her life to studying native Hawaiian music, language, and culture. But in February, the U-M associate professor of American culture stood on stage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and received a Grammy Award for songwriting in her native language.
