U-M and St. Joseph Mercy hospitals set new rules for visitors
The U-M and Saint Joseph Mercy health systems are implementing new temporary visitor guidelines designed to slow the spread of all types of flu. The guidelines will remain in place until further notice and apply to all UMHS hospitals, health centers and other treatment locations throughout Southeast Michigan. More information is available online at the UMHS Patient & Visitor Guide. A series of town halls for faculty, staff and students are planned for this week. Humanities Institute seeks applicants for 2010-11 fellowships
The Institute for the Humanities is seeking applications for faculty and graduate student fellowships for 2010-11. Tenured and tenure-track faculty at the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses are eligible to apply, as are doctoral students who have attained candidacy at the time of application.

Edwin Staples has been a Peace Corps volunteer, an intern at the Ann Arbor Water Treatment plant and an archivist at the National Library of Medicine. Now, the School of Information master’s degree graduate is the Internal Revenue Service’s first archivist. In that role, he is overseeing the transfer of IRS manuals and regulations to digital format.
