“Focus on the Faculty,” a series of videos on U-M’s YouTube channel, profiles some of the university’s Arthur F. Thurnau professors, showing prospective students the kind of personalized instruction they will receive from leading faculty. The series showcases the unique talents and research of each of the professor. This video profiles Timothy McKay, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Physics and Astronomy and director of the LSA Honors Program.

U-M sees opportunity for working with Native American communities
Vice President for Research Stephen Forrest says a new federal rule that takes effect today regulating the transfer of Native American human remains provides an important opportunity for U-M to work with Native American communities. His office will oversee the transfer of human remains controlled by the university but for which no culturally affiliated Indian tribe has been identified.

Athletic Director David Brandon and Olympic silver medal ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White have been recognized by The Detroit News as Michiganians of the Year in the newspaper’s annual list of 10 people making a difference for the state and its residents.
