Library releases MLibrary Mobile for on-the-go access to content

The U-M Library has announced the launch of MLibrary Mobile, a new website that provides access to key library content and services in a mobile-friendly format.

From MLibrary Mobile one can access Mirlyn Mobile, as well as a list of mobile-friendly library databases, library hours and locations, Ask a Librarian services, research guides, and news and events.

Anyone using a mobile device to visit the MLibrary website automatically is redirected to MLibrary Mobile. It can be accessed directly at

MLibrary Mobile reflects MLibrary's efforts to optimize its most popular and powerful digital tools for mobile devices, beginning with Mirlyn Mobile, which was released last fall.

Suzanne Chapman, head of the User Experience Department, says that the group will continue to enhance existing mobile services as well as develop new ones. "We're making improvements all the time, based on user feedback, and in response to changing needs and technologies," she says.

Chapman expects to add more library content to MLibrary Mobile as it becomes available. Her department also is working on a mobile interface to the HathiTrust Digital Library, which will allow users to find and read books and journals on mobile devices, including tablets like the iPad.
