Voices of the Staff members gathered recently for their annual meeting, which featured speakers and activities that focused on collaborative brainstorming, team building and planning. Saint Joseph Mercy, UMHS team up to coordinate emergency air medical services
Saint Joseph Mercy Health System will transition its use of emergency medical helicopters to the U-M Health System’s air ambulance medical transportation program, Survival Flight. Survival Flight will include patient transports between the seven hospitals of Saint Joseph Mercy Health System in southeast Michigan and other locations.

PODCAST: A website to help keep young drivers safe
C. Raymond Bingham, a research professor who heads up the Young Driver Behavior and Injury Prevention Group at the U-M Transportation Research Institute, talks about the Checkpoints program. The free, interactive website establishes rules in a personal written agreement that ensures parents their teens are clear about where and when they can drive.

'The Environment Report' wins national Edward R. Murrow Award
"The Environment Report" from Michigan Radio has been recognized for excellence in broadcast journalism by the Radio Television Digital News Association with a 2011 National Edward R. Murrow Award for its documentary "Coal: Dirty Past, Hazy Future."

The Vepsians of northern Russia number just more than 8,000, but only 6,000 of them speak the native language. Of the remaining speakers, most are more than 50 years old. As part of her honors thesis, LSA senior Bryn Hauk worked to document and preserve this endangered language.
