Last three days for MHealthy Rewards, walk-ins welcome

With three days left before MHealthy Rewards ends Thursday, only three wellness screening locations remain. To accommodate demand, benefits-eligible faculty and staff can attend one of the following screenings where walk-ins will be accepted:

The final three screening locations and walk-in hours include:

• Today (May 29): U-M Hospital, Dow Auditorium, 8:30-11:30 a.m., 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 7:30-11:30 p.m.

• Wednesday: U-M Hospital, Dow Auditorium, 5:30-10 a.m. and 1-4:30 p.m.

• Thursday: North Campus Administrative Complex, 8:30-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m.

A wellness screening is an opportunity to “know your numbers” for blood pressure, cholesterol, height and weight, and talk with a StayWell health professional about health goals, organizers say.

“Many faculty and staff are surprised at how easy the screening is,” says Janice Gasaway, MHealthy Rewards program lead. “Your cholesterol check is done by a simple finger stick method that is painless to most people and StayWell's staff are friendly and non-judgmental.”

Gasaway also emphasizes that the screening are completely confidential. “The university contracts StayWell Health Management to administer the health questionnaire and wellness screening,” Gasaway says. “This ensures your personal health information and results remain private and are never shared with the university without your permission.”

Employees who complete MHealthy Rewards 2012 (both the health questionnaire and a wellness screening) will earn a $100 before-tax reward and be automatically entered into the Rewards grand prize drawings. Six randomly selected winners will receive prize packages valued up to $750 each, including:

• Travel vouchers.

• Personal chef services.

• Exercise and sporting equipment.

• Gift cards.

The university’s goal is to reach 50 percent or more participation in both the health questionnaire and wellness screening by the end of May. To date, 49 percent of benefits-eligible faculty and staff have completed the annual health questionnaire and 40 percent have completed a wellness screening.
