Psychology lecturer Schreier is 2013 Golden Apple Award recipient
Shelly Schreier, a lecturer IV in the Department of Psychology, is the recipient of the 2013 Golden Apple Award. Awarded by students, it honors faculty members who seek to continuously engage their students in the classroom. Schreier will deliver her Golden Apple lecture April 4.

U-M ramps up safety awareness efforts in advance of March 17
University officials have stepped up awareness efforts about health and safety in anticipation of an increased celebratory atmosphere on campus when the Big Ten Basketball Tournament, Honors Convocation and St. Patrick's Day converge on Sunday.

Voices of the Staff seeks volunteers for network groups
Voices of the Staff is seeking volunteers to join six network groups. VOICES provides a formal means for staff members to share their ideas with university executives on campus community issues, and serves as a sounding board for leadership about issues affecting staff.

Assisting female veterans
A desire to help women and children from the time she was a teenager led Carrie Miller to establish Our Home Transitional, a non-profit organization designed to provide transitional housing to female veterans in need of support. Miller, a senior at UM-Flint, is in the process of buying a 10-bedroom house on Flint’s near north side to house her organization.
