The transformation that happens on campus each spring is inspiring. The campus comes into bloom and graduating seniors become alumni. It's a fleeting moment, captured in this short video by the Alumni Association.

University continues to promote alternative, green transportation with expansion of Blue Bikes
The university continues to promote sustainable transportation options to the campus community through its bicycle rental program, Blue Bikes. Four new bicycles were added to the program, resulting in 34 bikes available to staff, faculty and students. Rates range from $5 a day to $75 for the semester.

Winning departments announced for MHealthy Ergonomics Awards
Five university departments and units were recognized with MHealthy Ergonomics Awards for independently implementing ergonomic solutions in their work environment. Winning areas have decreased risk factors and reduced or prevented employee discomfort by adding or modifying equipment or redesigning work processes.

Jan Dowling named head women's golf coach
Athletic Director Dave Brandon has announced the hiring of Jan Dowling as the new head women's golf coach. Dowling is the fifth coach in the 37-year history of the program. Last season Dowling was an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee, and before that she was the head coach at the University of Florida for three seasons.

When the state’s farmers called for an agriculture college in the 1850s, the nascent U-M cried foul and insisted it should be based in Ann Arbor. The ensuing political and academic battle about how and where to teach agricultural education fueled a spirited rivalry that continues today with Michigan State University.
